Pinellas County Democrats lead Republicans in returned mail ballots, while Republicans lead in-person early voting, according to the county Supervisor of Elections' live turnout dashboard.

As of 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 60,701 Democratic and 53,633 Republican mail ballots had been returned, a Democratic lead of 7,068. Republicans had cast 21,320 in-person early ballots, compared with 17,390 for Democrats, a Republican lead of 3,930.

The dashboard also listed 29,206 mail ballots and 9,652 early votes from voters with no party affiliation, plus 3,503 mail ballots and 1,493 early votes from voters registered with other parties. It reported 147,043 mail ballots and 49,855 early votes overall, or 196,898 ballots and 32.08% turnout among 613,797 active eligible voters.

Pinellas early voting runs daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sunday, Nov. 1, at seven locations, according to VotePinellas.gov. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The deadline to request a ballot be mailed has passed. Voters with a completed mail ballot can return it to a designated ballot-return location or one of the Supervisor of Elections offices. Ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day and cannot be returned at polling places, the elections office says.
