KLR Creative Group is seeking Tampa Bay-area adults to work as background actors in "Hooters: The Movie," a period comedy about the restaurant chain's origins.
The casting notice published on Project Casting says applicants must be at least 18 and available for filming in November and December 2026. Submissions close Nov. 13.
How to apply
The notice requests current, unfiltered photographs, a full name, date of birth, phone number and home location. It lists pay of $15 per hour, with five hours guaranteed, and notes that a shoot may take a full day. Applicants can consult the linked listing for submission details and availability requirements.
A Clearwater origin story
Deadline reported Aug. 28 that Jon Rosenbaum is directing the independently produced film from a screenplay by Ed Droste, Phil Olson and Chuck Melcher. Droste, a Hooters co-founder, is also a producer.
The announced story follows two friends, Ted and Lenny, from Iowa to Clearwater Beach, where they become involved in launching the restaurant chain. Deadline described filming as planned primarily for Tampa and Clearwater, where the original restaurant opened in 1983.
Deadline named Lisa London and Catherine Stroud of London/Stroud Casting as the film's casting directors. The local extras notice separately names Karlie Loland-Ringer of KLR Creative Group.
