The Barbagelata family's organic farm store on Lakeview Road is about to get a much bigger sibling across the bay, and Clearwater shoppers stand to gain same-day delivery upgrades in the process.

Lakeview Farm Store, the 1,000-square-foot specialty grocery at 1266 Lakeview Rd., will open a second location at 1847 1st Ave. North in St. Petersburg's Grand Central District in late summer or early fall 2026, St. Pete Rising reported Tuesday, July 28. The new space is 3,540 square feet, more than three times the Clearwater store's footprint.

Once the St. Pete store opens, the company plans to expand same-day delivery across the entire Tampa Bay region. Clearwater customers already receive same-day delivery on Tuesdays with a $150 minimum order and a $20 fee, according to the store's delivery page. Hillsborough County currently gets next-day delivery on Wednesdays with a $200 minimum and $20 fee, while Manatee and Sarasota counties receive Thursday delivery with a $200 minimum and $25 fee. The expansion would bring all those counties up to same-day service.

The Barbagelata family moved from Argentina to Pinellas County in 2021. Their father worked as an agricultural engineer connecting farmers to global markets, an influence on the store's direct-sourcing approach.

"We were always connected to farming through our dad," Mateo Barbagelata told St. Pete Rising in a July 28 interview. "But when we came here, we saw an opportunity to build something different, something more transparent, and closer to the source."

Rather than buying through traditional distributors, Lakeview partners directly with local producers including Life Farms, Alday Farm, Florida Fruit Co-op, Olivor Heritage Farms, Fort McCoy Ranch, and Gamble Creek Farms. The store carries organic produce, grass-fed and pasture-raised meats, raw dairy, and pantry staples. Everything on the shelves meets a strict no-seed-oils, no-refined-sugars, no-ultra-processed-foods standard.

The St. Pete location will add a dedicated juice kitchen for cold-pressed juices, organic coffee, and house-made almond and coconut milks, plus locally made fermented goods from St. Pete Ferments. Lakeview will also supply food for Casa Origen, a farm-to-table restaurant opening in St. Pete's EDGE District this summer.

The Barbagelatas said current customers already drive from St. Pete to the Clearwater store, which factored into the site choice. Construction is underway with a full interior renovation planned.

The Clearwater store at 1266 Lakeview Rd. remains open. Orders can also be placed through the store's website or mobile app for scheduled delivery.
