Clearwater Marine Aquarium is offering residents a chance to stretch alongside dolphins Friday, Aug. 14, when the facility hosts its Dolphin Yoga session in a covered outdoor space directly in front of the underwater dolphin viewing area.
The class begins at 6 p.m. after a brief educational presentation and costs $30 for nonmembers and $27 for members. Participants ages 13 and older should bring their own mat and water. Check-in starts at 5:30 p.m. on level 3 through the main entrance at 249 Windward Passage.
Comedy and music Friday night
That same evening, Aspirations Winery at 22041 U.S. 19 N. hosts "If You Know What I Mean," an improv comedy and musical show starting at 7 p.m. Tickets begin at $13.39 for the 18-and-older event.
The winery also holds a recurring free Indoor Sip & Shop local artist and craft market on select Saturdays at 11 a.m. and a Motown and Soul Music Show on Sundays at 7 p.m.
Stand-up fans can catch comedian Ginger Kelly at Clearwater Comedy Club, 483 Mandalay Ave., on Aug. 14-15 at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $23.58, according to Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.
Jazz jam comes to Largo
The Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation's Ultimate Jazz Jam takes place Saturday, Aug. 15, at Central Park Performing Arts Center, 105 Central Park Drive in Largo.
Doors open at 5:45 p.m., with the CJH Young Lions performing from 6 to 8 p.m. and the Ultimate Jazz Jam running from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Free stadium seats are fully claimed, but a waitlist is available by emailing [email protected]. Details are on the foundation's website.
Vision boards and free yoga
On Wednesday, Aug. 19, GÜD Essence at 28540 U.S. 19 N. hosts the MiRAjO Vision Board Workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The $30 ticket covers supplies, including boards, magazines and images. The workshop is a collaboration between GÜD Essence and MiRAjO Collective.
Free fitness continues every Monday at Coachman Park, where Clearwater Y in Motion leads Sunset Yoga at no cost, according to the city's events page.
What's ahead
English pop-rock band Squeeze brings its Tried, Tested and Trixies Tour to The BayCare Sound at Coachman Park on Wednesday, Aug. 19. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the show starts at 6 p.m., with Adam Ant and Haircut 100 joining the lineup.
As we reported Aug. 12, Squeeze is revisiting deep cuts from its 50-year catalog.
DEVO follows at The BayCare Sound on Thursday, Aug. 27. Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms perform with special guest Spin Doctors on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
