Spirit Christmas, the holiday retail chain from Spirit Halloween's parent company, is opening one of its first four Florida locations in Clearwater at 2522 McMullen Booth Road.

The seasonal store will take over the space that currently houses a Spirit Halloween in the former Stein Mart building, as first reported by the Tampa Bay Times on Sept. 28.

Clearwater opening date points to early November

The exact date has not been announced. The Tampa Bay Times said the company's website listed a November opening, while Attractions Magazine, citing the same source, pinpointed Nov. 6.

Tennessee listings show Spirit Halloween stores there closing Oct. 31 and reopening as Spirit Christmas on Nov. 6, a possible model for the Clearwater transition.

Animatronics, inflatables and a horror-themed "Creepmas" line

Spirit Christmas sells ornaments, stocking stuffers, lawn inflatables and animatronics featuring characters such as Snoopy, Frosty the Snowman and several Misfit Toys from "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." The chain also carries a "Creepmas" line of horror-themed holiday merchandise.

Some locations will feature a new-for-2026 in-store attraction called the Candy Cane Express. The company's store locator describes it as a Christmas train station with an almost life-size train and caboose guests can steer, plus a terminal where children can write letters to Santa. It is unclear whether the Clearwater store will include the experience.

Chain grows to 43 stores in 15 states

The concept launched in 2024 with eight stores in the Northeast and grew to 30 in 2025. The 2026 expansion brings the total to 43 stores in 15 states, according to Attractions Magazine. Florida marks the brand's first push into Southern markets, along with North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

The three other Florida locations are in Coral Springs, Jacksonville and Winter Garden. Hours and any preview events for the Clearwater store are still pending; its listing reads "Opening Soon."
