Grammy-winning rock duo The Black Keys will play The BayCare Sound at Coachman Park on Tuesday, July 28, bringing their blues-rock covers tour to Clearwater's downtown amphitheater.

Guitarist-singer Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney are touring behind "Peaches!," a 10-track covers album released May 1 on Easy Eye Sound/Warner Records. The record digs into blues legends like R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough and Earl Hooker. It's the Akron, Ohio-bred duo's second covers collection, following 2021's "Delta Kream."

The album grew out of a difficult stretch. Auerbach's father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer, and the pair started jamming through their record collections to cope. "We weren't making a record. We were just jamming, like this is for us," Auerbach said when the album was announced in February. "Really primal, in a moment when all the nerves were raw, just kinda screaming."

All 10 tracks were recorded live with no separation between instruments and vocals, according to Stereogum. Carney has said it was the first Black Keys album the band mixed themselves since their 2006 debut.

The stop in Clearwater is part of the Peaches 'n Kream World Tour '26. Atlanta-based blues-rock guitarist Eddie 9V opens.

The band postponed several Midwest dates the week of July 14 due to Canadian wildfire smoke, Creative Loafing Tampa Bay reported July 22. The Clearwater date remains on the schedule.

What to know before you go

The BayCare Sound is at 301 Drew St. in downtown Clearwater. The venue is cashless, and a reverse ATM is available at The Library entrance. Only clear bags (max 12 by 6 by 12 inches) or small clutch bags (4.5 by 6.5 inches) are permitted. Chairs are not allowed, but blankets up to 30 by 60 inches are fine. No umbrellas. No re-entry. The show is rain or shine.

The BayCare Sound ticket window opens two hours before show time. VIP packages include a Backstage Super VIP Experience with a crew-led backstage tour, group photo and signed poster, plus a standard VIP option with early entry and a photo booth.

Public parking is available throughout the downtown district. Ferry and trolley services also serve the area.
