Clearwater businesses join countywide 727 Day celebration

Five Clearwater businesses are among more than 100 restaurants, bars, shops and attractions across Pinellas County offering exclusive deals for 727 Day, the annual celebration of the local area code running Saturday, July 25, through Monday, July 27.

The deals are available through Visit St. Pete-Clearwater's free mobile passport, which residents can claim at 727day.com. No app download is required. The passport is delivered by text or email, and each offer can be redeemed once per participant.

Among the Clearwater offers listed by Tampa Bay Date Night Guide as of Thursday, July 17:

  • Ocean Hai at Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach: $7.27 Clearwater Crush Refresh cocktail.
  • Sandpearl Resort: $7.27 food and drink specials.
  • Clearwater Marine Aquarium: Buy two tickets, get a third for $7.27.
  • Sheraton Sand Key Resort: 727 Clearwater Beach Special Package.
  • Essentials Massage and Facials of Clearwater: Therapeutic massages and deluxe European facials for $72.70.

Visit St. Pete-Clearwater said more than 100 businesses signed on for the promotion as part of its "From Visitors With Love" campaign.

Events extend beyond the deals

While the mobile passport deals are available July 25-27, the celebration begins earlier with the Tampa Bay Ice Cream Festival at Spa Beach at the St. Pete Pier on Sunday, July 19. The free event includes a chance to win one of 1,000 Tampa Bay Rays tickets for the Saturday, July 25, game against the Cleveland Guardians, according to Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

Fans attending the July 25 Rays game can pick up a limited-edition 727 T-shirt designed by local artist Clancy Riehm at the stadium's lower-level entrance. Those who cannot attend the game can still earn a T-shirt or a commemorative 8-by-10-inch art print by checking in at two or more participating passport locations during the promotion.

Final day features Clearwater and St. Petersburg events

On Monday, July 27, the Clearwater Threshers will host a noon game with a From Visitors With Love booth behind home plate, according to 727day.com. Later that day, the St. Pete Pier celebration begins at 4 p.m. and concludes with live music and a drone show.

Kahwa Coffee locations throughout Pinellas County will give away a free small drink of customers' choice from 7:27 to 8:27 a.m. on Monday, July 27, according to Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.
