Clearwater families can trick-or-treat at two free events on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31.

Fall-O-Ween takes over Coachman Park on Friday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 10 p.m. Boo Bash follows on Saturday, Oct. 31, at BayCare Ballpark from 5 to 8 p.m. Both events are free, according to the city of Clearwater's events page.

Fall-O-Ween at Coachman Park

The city is billing Fall-O-Ween as a "not-so-scary" evening at Coachman Park, 300 Cleveland St. Activities include a costume contest, a candy trail, food trucks, touch-a-truck and Dino Dig stations. Carnival Ride, a Carrie Underwood tribute band, will perform, according to the event listing.

Boo Bash at BayCare Ballpark

The Clearwater Threshers and the city's Parks and Recreation Department are co-hosting Boo Bash at BayCare Ballpark, 601 Old Coachman Road. Kids in costume can trick-or-treat along the concourse, where vendors and local businesses will hand out candy.

The event features hayrides, inflatable games and a costume parade on the field. Concession stands, the playground, restrooms and the Tiki Bar will be open. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Parking is free.

Online map tracks decorated homes

Families hunting for the best Halloween displays have a new tool. Spencer Caton, a 35-year-old St. Petersburg product manager, built Fright This Way, a free, ad-free online map at frightthisway.com. The site lets users browse decorated homes by neighborhood and check each display's scare level, as first reported by Tampa Bay Beacons.

The map listed about 190 homes as of late October, mostly in St. Petersburg neighborhoods. Clearwater and beach areas have no listings yet, but Caton said he hopes to expand countywide. Anyone can add a house by tapping "Add a fright" on the site.
